Leadership guru Ken Blanchard said that “None of us is as smart as all of us.” This speaks to the importance of collaboration in today’s world. Nowhere is facilitating sharing and a collaborative spirit more important than in education. For this reason, we have provided this place to upload helpful resources for sharing with other colleagues. As these materials are uploaded, evaluated, and categorized, they will be made available at one of our organization’s online resources. Possible locations materials may be hosted include our Resources page, our Library, or perhaps one of our various Social Media resources, depending on content. If you are a current member of our society and would like to help in this important effort of curating materials, please contact us.
How To Share
It’s important for our members to realize the value of their expertise, research, and resources. What is very familiar to you may be a rare treasure to other academic colleagues or ministry leaders. In addition, the time and effort it takes us to produce valuable resources by ourselves sometimes prohibits our ability to complete some important and needed projects. Below are the steps we’ve created to facilitate the sharing of information to enrich our guild.
- Identify Things to Share. Identify valuable materials you are willing to share to help others. These may be related to any field within Christian education (discipleship, teaching, formation, age-group, parachurch ministry) or Christian higher education (administration, leadership, professorial teaching).
- Choose the Best Format. Establish the type and category of resource you are sharing. Think about the best format to upload your resource. Try to use common, universally-used formats when possible, rather than proprietary resources that are platform specific and that cannot be used by the majority of users. (In some cases we may be able to convert files to other universal formats).
- Share Different Types of Content. Strongly consider sharing resources of many different types. We have media accounts of all types and our website is able to host a variety of materials, so members should freely share information such as power point presentations, word processor documents, photos (larger sizes preferably), portable document format (.pdf), and others. These provide a vast array of opportunities for the widest possible sharing within our guild.
- Upload It To the Appropriate Location. Look below and find the most appropriate location to submit your information. Different submission areas exist in order to help us classify and curate information easier.
Uploading and Sharing Your Files
Sharing Audio & Video Files
How To Upload Large Files for Sharing. If you would like to share audio files or videos for us to post on either our blog or YouTube channel, those larger files pose a challenge for uploading ease. The approach used above for small file sizes will not work with most video and audio files. To share these with us, you can share them with us through “unlisted” YouTube uploads. The following videos explain how easy it is. Watch these videos to learn how to upload the video or audio files. As you will see below, we suggest that you make these files “unlisted” which will make them shareable but otherwise essentially invisible elsewhere on the web. Just follow the directions provided.
How to Share Unlisted Audio and Video Files on YouTube. Once you have uploaded those files while logged into your Google/YouTube account, follow these instructions.
